Agricultural product imports increased by 10% in the first half of the year

From January to June 2025, Ukraine imported agricultural products worth USD 4,262 million, which is USD 398 million more than in the same period last year.

The main suppliers of agricultural products to Ukraine are traditionally EU countries, accounting for over 52% of import supplies. In the first half of 2025, agricultural products worth USD 2,235 million were purchased from this region.

Imports from other regions are significantly smaller. Over January–June this year, Ukrainian companies purchased food products from Asian partners for USD 820 million (over 19% of total imports), Latin American countries for USD 351 million (8%), and African countries for USD 242 million (about 6%).

The increase in the value of agricultural imports to Ukraine at this stage is driven by stable demand for key foreign food product groups and a general rise in their prices. If this trend continues in the second half of the year, 2025 could mark the third consecutive year of growing agricultural food import volumes amid Russia’s full-scale military aggression against Ukraine.
