Ukraine has been establishing checkpoints on the border with Romania to speed up traffic

The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine together with Romanian colleagues, has been working on the implementation of projects in the road transport sector, which will allow for the unloading of checkpoints in the transport corridor with the EU.

There are 2 priority projects. The first one is a green corridor between the Reni - Giurgiulesti - Galați checkpoints (Ukraine - Moldova - Romania). The aim is to launch joint customs and border control in Reni. For this purpose, the checkpoint is already being reconstructed.

At the beginning of 2024, it is planned to complete work on the checkpoint and launch joint control. This will reduce the number of truck stops and speed up control and customs procedures. There are also plans for a large-scale reconstruction of the Reni checkpoint.

The second project is the launch of trucks through the new checkpoint Krasnoilsk - Vikova-de-Suz. It is now only for empty cars.

The Ukrainian side is also interested in the reconstruction of the Porubne - Siret crossing. It is planned to equip an additional 4  strips (two for arrival, two for departure) and maintain service zones on both sides.

Also, Ukraine and Romania are currently actively working on new projects of the Bila Krynytsia - Klimauti and Bila Tserkva - Szygetu-Marmacei cargo checkpoints.

The Ukrainian side is also interested in establishing the passage of empty trucks through the Dyakivtsi - Rakovets checkpoint at the first stage, and in the future - also trucks with cargoes.
