Romania and Moldova will allow the import of grain from Ukraine only with licenses

Romania will allow the import of agricultural products from Ukraine only to Romanian farmers and processors and only if they have licenses. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of Romania, Florin Barbu. The corresponding project of the regulatory act is ready and will be approved by the Government of Romania. This project introduces a mechanism for authorizing Romanian economic operators to allow the import of wheat, corn, sunflower and rapeseed.

The draft law provides that farmers and companies engaged in the production of oils and fats, flour milling products, preparations for feeding agricultural animals and animal husbandry may obtain permission to import agricultural products from Moldova and Ukraine.

Those who intend to import agricultural products from these two countries must provide a document confirming the need to replenish stocks.

Besides, a similar decision was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, Volodymyr Bolya. Only licensed farmers and processors will be allowed to import grain from Ukraine.
