The renewal of the interstate electricity line between Ukraine and Poland has begun

Ukrenergo and the Polish transmission system operator PSE S.A. began renewal of the interstate electricity ransmission line between Ukraine and Poland.

"Ukrenergo and the Polish transmission system operator PSE S.A. began restoration of the interstate power transmission line between Ukraine and Poland. The relevant framework agreement was signed by Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the chairman of the board of NEC "Ukrenergo" and the president of PSE S.A. Eric Klossovski", - the message reads. It is mentioned that the export of electricity to Poland resumed a few weeks after the synchronization of the energy system of Ukraine with the power grid of continental Europe and now amounts to 215 MW. The commissioning of the renewed interconnector at the beginning of next year can strengthen the physical possibilities for exporting Ukrainian electricity to Poland by almost 1 000 MW.

According to the company, the project of renewal the interstate power transmission line is implemented in accordance with the memorandum between the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Climate and Environment of Poland, which was signed in June this year. It has the support of the governments of both countries and corresponds to the development plans of Ukrenergo and PSE S.A. networks.

Ukrenergo noted that the increase in the export of Ukrainian electricity is a step towards the creation of a pan-European system of energy security. Ukrainian electricity is a good alternative to Russian gas on the European market.

On August 8, Ukrenergo informed that at their auctions for access to interstate crossings for the export of electricity to Romania and Slovakia, the average price has more than doubled - to almost 9 000 UAH/MWh.
