Poland will simplify control procedures for import and export of agricultural products

During the meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Henryk Kowalczyk and the First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko, agreements were reached on ways to facilitate trade across the Ukrainian-Polish border. Thus, the Polish side decided to ensure the operation of veterinary and sanitary services in the 24/7 regime. To achieve this, employees of the relevant services will be  brought to the Ukrainian-Polish border.

Control procedures will also be simplified. In particular, laboratory tests can be done not at the border, but in the destination point, which will significantly reduce the time of crossing the border. “We have also agreed to remove barriers for trade by animal products, including pork. It is important for Ukraine to ensure the transit of pork, beef and lamb to third countries through the territory of Poland, which requires corresponding veterinary solutions”,-  said Yulia Svyridenko.

She underlined that Ukraine and Poland will make more efficient use of all modalities for transportation, including container transportation through Polish ports.
