The EU has mobilized about one billion euros for "solidarity corridors" with Ukraine

The European Commission, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, the European Investment Bank, the EBRD and the World Bank signed a joint declaration, which provides for the allocation of about  1 billion euros to support the activities of "solidarity corridors" on the borders between Ukraine and the EU.

The European Commission urgently allocates 250 million euros in the form of grants for the development of "solidarity corridors" to reduce waiting time and improve the system of border crossings and other access routes.

As part of this program, the European Investment Bank plans to invest up to 300 million euros by the end of 2023 in projects that meet the aims of "solidarity corridors", a large part of which is intended for the modernization of automobile roads and railways.

In turn, the EBRD intends to invest 300 million euros for the development of "solidarity corridors" in the period 2022-2023, while some of such projects have already been defined and approved.

Besides, the Group of World Bank is preparing an emergency project to repair railways and automobile infrastructure,  damaged by war. The cost of such a project is estimated at another 100 million US dollars, which should be allocated in 2023. Along with this, the discussion of the simultaneous modernization of the infrastructure and multi-module logistics points in Romania and Moldova is going, located on the borders with Ukraine, to support the critical areas of export-import operations of Ukraine with the prospect of reconstruction of such transport and logistics centers.
