In a year and a half 137 Ukrainian companies entered foreign markets

In a year and a half, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and within the framework of the implementation of the economic priority of the Foreign Policy Strategy, 137 Ukrainian companies managed to enter foreign markets.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at an online briefing, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“In a year and a half of the government’s work, 137 Ukrainian companies have started working in foreign markets with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine,”  - said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Kuleba said that the Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the State Food and Consumer Service, has opened or renewed access to markets for 59 product groups in 18 countries.

According to his words, the creation of new economic opportunities for Ukrainian exporters and attracting investors is one of the six key priorities of the Foreign Policy Strategy.

Among the latest achievements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the economic field, its leader singled out the opening of markets for honey and apiculture products in Qatar, dairy products in Turkey, poultry meat in Liberia, poultry meat and eggs in Japan.

In this regard, the Minister announced the signing of a document approving large-scale changes in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the sphere of business assistance, investment and trade development - the Procedure for the activities of economic departments within foreign diplomatic missions.

According to his words, this document for the first time regulates specific indicators, namely the number of open markets for groups of Ukrainian goods, the number of meetings organized by diplomats of Ukrainian companies with foreign partners with a list of names of companies entering the foreign market, the volume of investment etc.

“We are introducing effective practices in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that are already working in the corporate sector. With this document, which I have signed, we have consolidated these procedures institutionally, although we have been working on them for a year already, but signing of this document is essentially the completion of this reform, its final institutionalization in the Foreign Ministry,”  - the Minister stressed.

As reported before, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in July announced the approval by the National Security and Defense Council’s Strategy for Foreign Policy, one of the areas of which is to promote Ukrainian export and attract foreign investment.
