Volume of grain cargo exports by rail increased by 9% in January

The volume of grain cargo exports by rail transport in January increased by 9%.

In January, 2 million 642 thousand tonnes were transported by rail. Compared to December, the figure rose by 10%. However, compared to January of the previous year, the volume decreased by 20%.

In export traffic in January, 2 million 370 thousand tonnes were transported. This is 9% more than in December. At the same time, compared to January of the previous year, the figure fell by 17%.

91% of exports were transported in the direction of ports. The share of exports through western border crossings amounts to 9%.

The average daily loading in January reached 80,400 tonnes. This volume exceeded the December figure by 9.4%.
