Ukrainian fresh fish exports increased almost by 40%

The press service of the State Fisheries Agency of Ukraine informed that in January-November 2019 Ukraine had increased fresh fish exports in monetary terms by 39% (by 383,8 thousand USD). In their report they used the data provided by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine. 96% of the total exports value belongs to Asian countries (369,3 thousand USD). The biggest importers of Ukrainian fresh fish are: Iraq (109,5 tons/185 thousand USD) and Turkey (43 tons/183 thousand USD).

In total during the 11-month period of the previous year Ukraine had exported 155,5 tons of different types of fresh and chilled fish, such as: carp (almost 110 tons/186 thousand USD), turbot (42,6 tons/180,5 thousand USD), porgies or sea breams (1,4 tons/7,8 thousand USD). According to the data provided by the UNIAN, in 2019 the commercial fish and bio resources capturing in Ukraine increased by 2,2% (51 thousand tons).
