Ukraine’s trade turnover this year reached almost 55,5 billion US dollars: the share of import and export

In January-July 2020, Ukraine’s trade turnover with the world amounted to 55,48 billion US dollars.

As Ukrinform reports, this was the data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

Import of goods to Ukraine during this period decreased by 13% compared to January-July 2019, up to 28,8 billion dollars. Export of goods from Ukraine for 7 months of this year amounted to 26,6 billion dollars, that is 7% less than for the same period last year. This is why the balance of foreign trade of Ukraine in January-July 2020 was negative and amounted to 2,2 billion dollars.

The share of EU countries in the total value of imports of goods to Ukraine in January-July 2020 was 43%, CIS countries - 16%. The share of EU countries in exports of goods from Ukraine during this period was 37%, CIS countries - 13%.

The main items of Ukrainian exports in January-July 2020 were grain crops (18,5% of the total), ferrous metals (16,9%), fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin (12,8%); imports – mineral fuels, oil and its products (15,8%), nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery, equipment and mechanical devices (10,7%), land vehicles, their parts and equipment (9,6%).

As it was previously mentioned, according to the State Statistics Service, in January-May 2020, export of goods amounted to 19,53 billion US dollars (6,5% less than in January-May 2019), import – 20,15 billion US dollars (14,5% less). The negative balance was 620,6 million US dollars (in January-May 2019 it was also negative and amounted to almost 2,67 billion dollars).
