The trade turnover of agricultural products between Ukraine and Egypt in 2024 reached $1.4 billion. It is a 32% increase compared to the previous year.
This was announced by Ukraine’s Minister of agrarian policy and food, Vitaliy Koval, during a meeting with the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Ukraine, Barakat Ali Elleithy.
Majority of exports consisted of corn, wheat, soybeans, and oil. In return, Ukraine primarily imports citrus fruits, potatoes, and nuts from Egypt.
The parties discussed reducing payment deferrals for Ukrainian exporters for delivered goods, cancelling certain trade restrictions and tariffs, and the possibility of establishing a Ukrainian food hub in Egypt.
