Ukraine successfully passed its second-ever Trade Policy Review

Ukraine successfully conducted its second Trade Policy Review at the World Trade Organization (WTO). The meetings took place on February 26 and 28 at the WTO headquarters in Geneva. The delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka.

Preparations for the Review lasted over a year. Ukraine collaborated with government bodies, structural units of the Ministry of Economy, and the WTO Secretariat. In December, WTO members received reports from the Secretariat and the Government of Ukraine for analysis.

The successful Trade Policy Review will contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s trade relations with its partners.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative of Ukraine also separately highlighted a significant achievement in economic diplomacy at the WTO meeting, for the first time, a joint statement by 45 WTO members condemning the destructive impact of Russian aggression on the global trading system was included in the protocol. The statement was distributed as an official WTO document.
