Ukraine spent over $143 million on cheese imports in 7 months

In January-July 2025, Ukraine imported 22,700 tons of cheese, a 14.6% increase compared to the same period last year. In monetary terms, cheese imports for the seven months increased by 22.8% compared to January-July 2024, reaching $143.2 million. Cheeses were primarily imported from Poland (44.7%), Germany (13.7%), and the Netherlands (8.1%).

Ukraine’s cheese exports during January-July 2025 amounted to 8,100 tons, a 24.6% increase from the same period in 2024. In monetary terms, exports for January-July generated $37.2 million, up 32.9% from the same period in 2024. The largest buyers of Ukrainian cheeses in January-July 2025 were Moldova (33.8%), Kazakhstan (30%), and Germany (9.1%).
