In August 2025, Ukraine resumed soybean meal exports to Egypt after a long break, shipping 18,500 tons. This marks the first such shipment since January 2024 and represents the largest monthly export volume to this destination, surpassing previous occasional shipments of 3,000–5,500 tons.

Typically, Egypt prefers importing soybeans, ranking among the top five global importers of this crop according to USDA data, and produces soybean meal domestically, rarely importing it. Notably, in the current season, Ukraine has nearly doubled its soybean meal exports compared to the 2023/24 season and significantly expanded its export markets, supplying the product to 37 countries worldwide, up from 26 countries in the previous season.
