Ukraine offers Poland to open strips for empty trucks at two checkpoints

During the negotiations on the unblocking of the border, Ukraine has offered the Polish authorities to open strips for empty trucks at the "Ugryniv - Dolgobychiv" and "Hrushiv - Budomezh" checkpoints. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Serhiy Derkach.

Long-term negotiations with the Polish side to unblock the border have ended. "The crucial thing that the protesters are demanding is to return to the system of permits for cargo transportation. This is an issue that is not discussed at such meetings. And fundamentally for us: the "transport visa-free" should continue and be extended,"-  the deputy minister emphasized.

The absurdity of the demand, noted Derkach, is that the Polish protesters are not appealing to their government, but want Ukraine to appeal to the European Union regarding permits, and "protesters are not interested in other issues." The Ukrainian side insists that "blocking the border is a violation of a number of agreements. And the border should be unblocked immediately," - Derkach stressed.
