Ukraine joins Connecting Europe Facility

Ukraine has joined the Connecting Europe Facility. The relevant Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on Ukraine’s participation in the European Union’s Connecting Europe Facility was signed  in Lviv by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, and Adina Vălean, European Commissioner for Transport.

CEF is one of the key financial instruments of the European Union for the development of infrastructure projects in Europe. It is aimed at the development of the trans-European transport network, renewable energy projects and the digital economy. The total budget of the programme until 2027 is around EUR 21 billion. Ukraine has now access to these funds.

Thanks to this program, Ukraine will focus on the development of export logistics on the western borders. It is about increasing the capacity of road and railway checkpoints.
