Ukraine increases beef exports amid growing global demand and meat shortages

In March 2025, Ukraine significantly increased exports of cattle and beef.

Approximately 2,500 tons of cattle were exported in March, nearly double the amount in February, generating nearly $5 million in revenue. Lebanon remained the primary buyer.

Frozen beef exports increased by 1,510 tons (+14% from February), with the majority shipped to China, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.

Imports to Ukraine remain minimal. No live cattle were imported in March. Imports of chilled beef increased to 15.7 tons, and frozen beef to 172 tons.

The foreign trade balance in February was positive, at $9.3 million.
