In 2022/23 MY, Ukraine exported slightly more than 4 million tons of sunflower meal to foreign markets, which is 24% higher y-o-y. At the same time, it became one of the lowest indicators in the last 7 seasons.

Shipment volumes increased in all key directions, but China and the European Union remained the main importers of Ukrainian sunflower meal with shares of 42% each (45% and 31%, respectively, in 2021/22 MY). At the same time, it is worth noting that, if the increase in exports to China for the season was about 16%, then for the EU countries – almost 70%.

A significant increase in the export of Ukrainian sunflower meal was also recorded in the direction of Morocco (+77%), Egypt (+94%) and Israel (up 2,7 times).
