Ukraine has updated the rules for the “eQueue” system for trucks

To ensure predictability of waiting times and prioritize the transportation of critical goods, the rules for registering in the “eQueue” system for trucks have been revised, with the new conditions set to take effect soon.

The updated rules prioritize the arrival of trucks carrying perishable goods, vehicles transporting goods for companies with Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status, and trucks with transit declarations (T1) or TIR Carnet.

The ratio of priority cargo to other types of cargo will be calculated based on the approved rule: one truck with AEO/T1/TIR perishable cargo, one truck with perishable cargo, one truck with AEO/T1/TIR, and five non-priority trucks.

Additionally, vehicles of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces traveling for official purposes will be granted priority access to checkpoints.

A key innovation in the rules is the introduction of tools to ensure the predictability of the eQueue system. Specifically, measures will prevent carriers from booking slots “just in case” without a clear intent to complete the transportation. Such bookings increase queue lengths, making them unpredictable, especially during periods of mass cancellations or extensions of waiting times by carriers, particularly on weekends.
