Ukraine has turned from an importer of turkey meat into an exporter

Over the past 4 years, Ukraine has turned from an importer of turkey meat into an exporter. Due to the war, the domestic demand for turkey meat reduced, which allowed to change the vector of trade. During 2019-2021, the main importers of these Ukrainian products were Moldova (almost half of the volume), Benin, and Azerbaijan. In 2022, supplies have increased in 7 times. In 7 months of this year, 4,4 thousand tons of turkey meat were exported, which is almost the figure for 2022.

In 2022, the largest importers were the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and Moldova. The geography of export sales has changed significantly, with the vast majority of domestic turkey buyers being the world's largest importers.
