Ukraine has presented the export potential of the IT sector at the largest technology conference in Scandinavia

On May 3-4, the largest technological conference of the Nordic countries - Stockholm Tech Show 2023 - was held in Sweden. The event gathered together thousands of buyers, investors, developers, stakeholders and technological innovators of the IT sector, including representatives of Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Tata Consultancy Services, Truesec, H&M, Knowledge Factory - Advania, and others.

During the conference, the head of international cooperation of the IT Ukraine Association, Olena Berestetska, presented "Do IT like Ukraine" - a study of the development of the IT industry in 2022.

Present situation in the sector:

● The Ukrainian IT sector became the only export industry that demonstrated positive development dynamics in 2022 — 5,8% compared to the previous pre-war year.

● Thanks to its flexibility and reactivity, the sector brought 7,3 billion US dollars of export earnings to the Ukrainian economy.

● As a result of a full-scale invasion, 70,8% of IT companies had an unplanned relocation, a quarter of them - full relocation. 16,7% of companies had full or partial relocation abroad.

● The geography of company relocation has changed and today the list of TOP-10 countries includes: Poland, Germany, the USA, Portugal, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Romania, Moldova, Spain, Canada.

● 81,5% of IT companies relocated abroad still plan to return business to Ukraine when the martial law is abolished in Ukraine and hostilities are over.
