Ukraine has increased the exports of ready and canned fish by 14%

The State Agency of Fisheries of Ukraine informs that based on the information, provided by the State Statistical Service, during the Ist quarter of 2020 exports of Ukrainian ready and canned fish has increased by 14% – to 1,9 million USD.

The report says that during January-March of 2020 our country has delivered to the external markets 980 tons of finished and canned fish, which amounts to 1,9 million USD. This sum is 232 thousand tons (14%) more than during the same period of 2019.

It has been mentioned that the major buyers of this commodity item (in monetary terms) are: Moldova (300 tons for 510,3 thousand USD), Georgia  (203 tons for 269,1 thousand USD), Belarus (82 tons for 165,5 thousand USD), the USA (31 tons for 134,1 thousand USD) and Israel (82 tons for 134,1 thousand USD). These countries’ share in the total exports of ready and canned fish is 64%. The significant deliveries of this product were made to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Germany.

According to the commodity items, the mostly exported products has been: sardines, sardinellas, sprats or brislings – 750 tons for 914 thousand USD; herrings – 14,6 tons for 52,4 thousand USD; mackerels – 8,1 tons for 23,5 thousand USD; anchovies – 6,2 tons for 62 thousand USD; salmon – 1,4 tons for 30,1 thousand USD.

As it has been reported earlier, during January-March of 2020 Ukraine has delivered to external markets fish and crustaceans for 5 873 300 USD.
