Ukraine has increased export and import of agricultural products

According to the analysis of foreign trade in agricultural products (in January - August 2021 compared to January - August 2020) in Ukraine export and import of goods of all kinds increased. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

Export and import of goods of all kinds:

  • import + 20,5%
  • export + 9,5%
  • balance + 5,0%

In the commodity structure of international trade in January - July 2021 most agricultural products are exported from Ukraine:

  • sunflower oil - 25,2%
  • corn - 23,8%
  • wheat - 13,9%

Asian countries occupy the largest niche in the export of Ukrainian agricultural products over 50%.

In January-August 2021 Ukraine exported the majority of products to Asian countries - to 7,57 billion US dollars, EU - to 4,09 billion US dollars, Africa - 1,91 billion US dollars, CIS countries - to 0,84 billion US dollars, North and South America - to 0,16 billion US dollars.

The top 5 countries in terms of export of Ukrainian agricultural products include China (2,7 billion US dollars), India (1,06 billion US dollars), the Netherlands (1,02 billion US dollars and Egypt (0,8 billion US dollars) and Turkey  (0,6 billion US dollars).

The largest share of import to Ukraine from the EU is 48,8% (2,34 billion US dollars), from Asia - 20% (0,96 billion US dollars) and from North and South America -13,3% (0,64 billion US dollars).

The largest import to Ukraine is frozen fish - 4,9%, sunflower seeds - 4,2 and other food products - 4,4%.
