Ukraine has imposed duties on Turkish cucumbers and tomatoes from 20% to 27%

Ukraine is imposing definitive anti-dumping duties for a period of 5 years on fresh cucumbers and tomatoes from Turkey. The relevant decision was made by the Interdepartmental Commission for International Trade.

The investigation revealed a significant increase in dumped imports: in particular, imports of Turkish cucumbers over three years increased by 89% relative to domestic production, and the volume of tomatoes – by 27%. Because of this, Ukrainian greenhouse plants suffered significant damage – the production of cucumbers decreased by 40%, tomatoes – by 22%, and the number of employees decreased by 45% and 10%, respectively.

The final anti-dumping duty was set at:

20.1% for cucumbers from Talya Fresh,

25% for tomatoes from Talya Fresh,

22.8% for other cucumber suppliers,

26.9% for other tomato suppliers.

The Commission concluded that dumping by Turkey suppressed prices on the domestic market and undermined the profitability of Ukrainian producers.

The safeguard duties will come into effect on July 22.
