Ukraine has entered the top-3 buyers of Turkish tomatoes

Turkey is strengthening its positions in the global tomato market and increasing exports, in particular to Ukraine, which has entered the top three largest importers of this product.

The country is one of the leading tomato producers in the world with an annual volume of about 14 million tons. The products are supplied not only fresh, but also processed – dried, frozen, crushed and dehydrated.

Romania became the largest importer of Turkish tomatoes, where 42.8 million tons of products were supplied in three months. Next are Russia – 27.3 million tons and Ukraine – 16.8 million tons.

Among the main export positions are cluster tomatoes, cherry and cocktail varieties, as well as large-fruited and the so-called “egg type” tomatoes, which are widely used in greenhouse production.
