Ukraine has closed nine quotas for duty-free export of agricultural products to the EU

On July 22, 2019 Ukrainian exporters of agricultural products have completely took up quotas for duty-free export to the EU of nine commodity items. 

It has been reported by the press-service of the Ukrainian agribusiness club (UCAB). 

“As of July 22 Ukraine has completely took up quotas for duty-free export of agricultural products to the EU for nine group of products, such as honey, sugar, cereals and flour, processed starch and tomatoes, grape and apple juice, wheat, corn and butter”, - the statement said.

UCAB predicts that by the end of the year the quotas for barley, poultry meat, malt, wheat gluten and starch will be closed as well. Now they are closed by 79%, 75%, 58% and 53%, respectively. 

It has also been mentioned that there is a tendency towards rapid quota closing because at the same date of the previous year only 7 quotas were closed.
