Ukraine enters the top-3 suppliers of sunflower oil to India

India is expected to import 2.7 million tons of sunflower oil in the 2025/26 season, which is less compared to 2.87 million tons in the 2024/25 MY.

The decline is associated with a smaller harvest in the Black Sea region and a higher premium.

Russia was the main supplier of sunflower oil to India in the 2024/25 MY, shipping 1.48 million tons and providing more than half of the country’s imports, followed by Ukraine with 648 thousand tons (about 23%) and Argentina with 487 thousand tons (17%).
