In the first quarter of 2025, Ukraine’s apple imports surged nearly fivefold compared to the first quarter of 2024. According to the State Customs Service,

Ukraine imported 3,960 tons of apples, pears, and quinces valued at $5 million, compared to 811 tons worth $1.255 million in the first quarter of 2024.

In March 2025, Ukraine imported 2,470 tons of apples from other countries, becoming a net importer of apples for the first time in many years. The last time Ukraine was a net importer of apples was in March 2017.
