Ukraine and North Macedonia have signed a protocol to the Agreement on International Road Transport, which will ensure the stable use of a permit-free system for freight and passenger transportation.
Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction - Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine O. Kuleba and Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia - Minister of Transport A. Nikolovski signed the protocol to the Agreement between the two countries on international road transport of passengers and goods. The signing of the document resolves the possibility of implementing the liberalization of freight transport between the two countries. It is all about the ability to conduct bilateral and transit freight shipments without the need for permits.
The decision to liberalize freight transport between Ukraine and North Macedonia was approved in June 2023. Thanks to this, in 2024, the export of Ukrainian goods to the Balkan country increased by nearly 30%. Currently, Ukrainian carriers have the opportunity to conduct permit-free freight transportation with 35 countries.
