On January 17, the third meeting of the joint committee in accordance with the Cargo Transportation Agreement between Ukraine and the EU took place. Several important decisions were made relating to the sustainable execution of cargo transport between Ukraine and the EU, as well as the functioning of the “transport visa-free” regime.

One of the decisions was to establish a working group to analyze the effectiveness of the “transport visa-free” regime. The group will consist of representatives from both Ukraine and EU countries. It will consider any issues related to the implementation of the agreement, hold necessary consultations, and seek mutually beneficial solutions at the expert level.

Another decision involved the full recognition of smart tachographs in international transportations. This will simplify operations for Ukrainian carriers and allow them to use newly purchased trucks abroad, which are equipped with smart tachographs. Domestic companies had been unable to use them due to the lack of the necessary keys in Ukraine, which are only issued to EU member states.
