Ukraine and Canada have agreed to extend the Free Trade Agreement to the sphere of services and investment

Ukraine and Canada have agreed to continue negotiations on extending the Free Trade Agreement to the sphere of services and investment after the end of war in Ukraine.

This was discussed during an online meeting of the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine - Trade Representative of Ukraine Taras Kachka with the President of the Canadian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Zenon Potoczny and representatives of Canadian business.

The event was held on April 19 with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Canada.

“We are grateful to our Canadian partners for their continued participation in ensuring the work of Ukraine's economic recovery and transformation funds, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, and rebuilding destroyed real estate and infrastructure. We are also interested in expanding trade with Canada through further liberalization of the Free Trade Agreement for the sphere of services and investment,”- said Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Kachka.

The parties also agreed to continue an active dialogue on attracting Canadian economic, financial and expert assistance to crucial sectors of the Ukrainian economy, as well as further cooperation in expanding the presence of Canadian investors in Ukraine.
