Turkey remains the main importer of Ukrainian corn in May 2026

Ukraine continues to maintain significant positions in the global grain market, demonstrating the resilience of corn exports even under conditions of global competition. Turkey remains the largest buyer of Ukrainian corn, providing stable demand for domestic grain and contributing to the maintenance of export volumes.

Over the past few weeks, international exchanges, particularly CBOT, have recorded moderate growth in corn prices. Among the main factors that influenced the trend are high export sales from the United States, which significantly exceeded the average figures of the last five years. At the same time, the situation for Ukrainian exporters is complicated by increased yields in Argentina, where local analysts’ forecasts for corn production have been raised to 64 million tons. This increase intensifies competitive pressure on the market, especially during the summer period.

In May, the export geography became wider. Turkey remains the main importer, having purchased over 532 thousand tons of corn. Large volumes of exports are also directed to EU countries, including Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Belgium. Israel and South Korea are also showing activity.
