The foreign trade turnover of agricultural and food industry products between Ukraine and the EU in 2025 amounted to $15.7 billion, which is 9% less than the record figure of the previous year ($17.2 billion).

The main European partners in sectoral trade with Ukraine last year were Poland, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, France, Romania and Belgium. These countries account for about 80% of the total domestic trade turnover in agri-food products with the EU.

Last year, Ukraine imported agricultural products from EU member states worth approximately $4,914 million, which is almost 15% more than a year earlier.

The largest amount, $514 million, Ukraine spent on purchasing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages from the EU. Various food products, extracts and concentrates were purchased for $429 million, animal feed products, residues and waste – for $397 million, cocoa and chocolate products – for $394 million, tobacco products – for $384 million.

A noticeable share (6.6%) in domestic imports from the EU in 2025 was again occupied by dairy products. They were imported from abroad 17% more than the previous year – worth $324 million.

Overall, these product groups accounted for 56% of the value volume of food imports from the European Union.
