Revenues from the export of Ukrainian food products in 2024 increased synchronously across all major regional markets - European Union, Asia, and Africa. In 2024, the volume of agricultural product supplies from Ukraine to EU member states increased by 3% compared to 2023, rising from $12.6 billion to $13.0 billion. At the same time, the share of the EU in the domestic export of agricultural products last year was 52.4% of all Ukrainian agricultural exports.
Revenues from supplies to African countries in 2024 were $2.6 billion, providing the region with a 10.5% share of Ukraine’s agricultural exports. The ranking was led by Spain, which had been in 5th place the previous year. While the value of supplies from Ukraine to Spain in 2023 was $1,765 million, it increased by one and a half times in 2024 to $2,679 million. Spain’s share in Ukraine’s agri-food exports reached 10.8% in 2024.
The Netherlands took second place in the ranking. By increasing its purchases of Ukrainian agricultural products from $1,274 million in 2023 to $1,799 million (+41%) in 2024, this European country secured a 7.2% share. Turkey, having imported $1,658 million worth of agricultural products from Ukraine, maintained its third place in the ranking for the third consecutive year, with a share of 6.7%.
Poland continued to reduce the value of its purchases of Ukrainian agricultural products, cutting them by 15% compared to 2023, down to $1,523 million. Romania also significantly reduced its imports of Ukrainian agri-food products (-71%), dropping to $836 million.
Other major consumers of Ukrainian agricultural products included:
- Egypt ($1,408 million, +32%);
- Italy ($1,312 million, +26%);
- China ($1,302 million, -41%);
- Germany ($1,272 million, +48%);
- India ($848 million, +145%).
