The share of IT in Ukraine’s exports is decreasing

The share of IT services exports in Ukraine’s GDP in 2024 is 3.4%, slightly lower than in 2023 (3.7%) and 2022 (4.5%). Despite the overall decline, the IT sector remains one of the key pillars of the economy and the only one showing positive growth since 2019 (+23.6%).

IT services rank among the top-5 sectors by export share in GDP. The total export of IT services in 2024 reached $6.4 billion. Despite a slight decrease, their share in total exports remains significant. Ukrainian IT companies export their services to 147 countries worldwide. For over 10 years, the United States has remained the primary importer, accounting for 37.2% of all IT exports. Other key markets include: the United Kingdom – 8.8%, Malta – 7.8%, Cyprus – 6.1%, Israel – 4.6%, Switzerland – 4.1%, Germany – 4.1%, Poland – 2.6%, Estonia – 2.6%, and the UAE – 2.1%.
