Romania ensured the transit of more than 1 million tons of grain from Ukraine

Romania has ensured the transit of more than 1 million tons of grain from Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion.

This was announced by the President of Romania Klaus Iohannis at a joint press conference with the leaders of Ukraine, Germany, France and Italy in Kyiv.

"We see that there is another element of blackmail on the part of russia - it turned grain export into a weapon with global consequences. Today we talked about possible ways to solve the food crisis," said Johannis.

He noted that one of them is the transit of Ukrainian export through Romania, which already serves as a grain plantage.

"We are working to find the best solutions to ensure transit through our Romanian Black Sea port of Constanta and also our port on the Danube river. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the port of Constanta has already ensured the transit of more than a million tons of grain from Ukraine,"-m the President informed.

Iohannis also stated that Russia's unjustified and unprovoked aggression must be stopped.

"We discussed with President Zelenskyi specific ways to overcome this existential threat. We will continue to look for complex solutions to help Ukraine resist the Russian invasion," - the politician emphasized.

The Romanian leader also noted that 1,23 million Ukrainians crossed the border of his country, and more than 250 000 Ukrainian children went to school. "Ukrainians can count on the Romanian government and the Romanian people as long as they need," - he stressed.
