Total turnover in January amounted to 8,5 billion US dollars, which is 7% higher than in the same month a year before.

Last year 44,8 million tons of Ukrainian grain was exported to foreign markets, which was 16% more than the figure for 2022. The opposite trend was observed last year in relation to revenue from grain exports. In 2023, it amounted to 8,3 billion US dollars, having reduced by 9%.

In the second reading, the Senate of Canada approved the bill on the ratification of the updated Free Trade Agreement with Ukraine. Now the draft law will be referred to the specialized committee for consideration, from where it should return to the Senate for final approval. Earlier, this document was approved by the House of Commons, so after final approval by the Senate, it should receive the signature of the Governor General to enter into force.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has simplified the conditions for the export of sunflower seeds to Bulgaria, establishing an automatic licensing regime instead of a non-automatic one.

From now on, obtaining licenses for the export of sunflowers to Bulgaria will not require the approval of the Ministry of Agriculture and, accordingly, separate consultations with this country. This should simplify the export of relevant Ukrainian products.

The Chinese authorities have agreed to a phytosanitary protocol that will allow the import of peas from Ukraine. This was announced by the President of the Council of Bean Producers and Consumers of Ukraine, Antonina Skliarenko, during her speech at the Agro Ukraine Summit. She expressed hope that now farmers will be interested in increasing the area of sowing and production of peas. The protocol is currently being processed by the State Consumer Service.

Britain has said it will continue duty-free trade with Ukraine for almost all goods until 2029, giving Kyiv further favorable trading terms after the russian invasion.
