Over 8 months, Ukraine increased both imports and exports of buttermilk

From January to August 2025, Ukraine imported 6.2 thousand tons of buttermilk, fermented or acidified milk and cream, which is 24% more compared to the same period last year.

In monetary terms, $12.9 million was spent on imports over eight months – 24% more than in January–August 2024.

Ukraine purchased the most of this product from Poland (51.9%), Belgium (39.8%), and Germany (4.9%).

For exports over the 8 months of 2025, Ukraine shipped 3.9 thousand tons of buttermilk, fermented or acidified milk and cream, which is 44.4% more than in the same period last year.

In monetary terms, exports generated $5.7 million – 62.9% more than in January–August 2024.

The main buyers of Ukrainian buttermilk, fermented or acidified milk and cream in January–August were Moldova (86.7%), Kazakhstan (4.5%), and the UAE (4.4%).
