More and more German companies are planning to relocate production to Ukraine

The German CEE-Business Outlook 2025 survey, which included 133 German companies from various economic sectors, revealed that 22% of respondents plan to relocate production to Central and Eastern Europe. More than half of those surveyed (55%) expect the growth of economic importance of this region by 2030.

Poland has become the most attractive country for German investments, followed by Romania and Ukraine.

According to the study, 35% of companies plan to invest in Ukraine this year, and by 2030 this figure could rise to 41%. Currently 21% of the surveyed companies already have investments in Ukraine.

Ukraine has significant potential to become a new energy hub for the EU, an alternative manufacturing site, and a key player in the IT and outsourcing sectors for European companies.

The survey was conducted from November 20 to December 31 2024 and covered countries in Central and Eastern Europe, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine.
