Moldova’s National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has approved the continuation of preferential conditions for gas transportation through the Trans-Balkan Corridor to ensure reliable gas supplies to Ukraine.
On 24 October, amendments were approved to Decision No. 272/2025 concerning the Trans-Balkan pipeline, following a joint initiative submitted by the gas transmission system operators of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine.
The changes provide for the extension of preferential terms for a period of 6 months (November 2025 – April 2026), including a 50% discount on transportation tariffs for SRL “Vestmoldtransgaz” at the Caushany–Hrebenyky interconnection points.
Thanks to the Trans-Balkan Corridor, Ukraine has gained the ability to import gas via Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova. This route expands Ukraine’s access to southern-direction resources and enables the country to purchase gas from new exporting countries.
