The Ministry of Economy has developed an Action Plan to reform the system of technical regulation until 2025. The document is ready for consideration and adoption by the Government of Ukraine. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Serhiy Telenyk.

According to his words, this Action plan provides mechanisms and deadlines for the adoption of technical regulations and standards for food, medical products, construction industry, transport, household appliances, eco-design etc. It is also about improving the legislation in the field of state market control of non-food products, development of the reference base of national metrology, improvement of the national standardization system.

“The introduction of technical regulation in Ukraine according to European standards is the basis in overcoming trade barriers, improving product quality and, in general, the development of a high-tech economy”, - the deputy minister said.

He said that the adoption of the Action Plan is a necessary condition for the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products, which is also called “industrial visa-free”. The agreement will facilitate the introduction of a new model of economic development and competitiveness of Ukrainian products in domestic and foreign markets.
