The Ministry of Economy and UNIDO, with the support of the Swiss government, agreed to attract an additional 65 million UAH for the continuation of the project "Global program of eco-industrial parks in Ukraine: implementation at the local level"

The Ministry of Economy and UNIDO, with the support of the Government of Switzerland, reached an agreement on the continuation of the project and the attraction of additional investment in the amount of 1,6 million Swiss francs (about 65 million UAH). The aim of the project is to ensure the development of eco-industrial parks in Ukraine.

The specified continuation of joint efforts is aimed at scaling up the practical experience gained within the framework of the UNIDO project, introducing the concept of eco-industrial parks into national legislation and initiating effective incentives for the development of eco-industrial parks in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Economy and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with the support of the Government of Switzerland, are implementing the technical assistance project "Global program of eco-industrial parks in Ukraine: implementation at the local level" from 2020, which is aimed at on the implementation of the model of eco-industrial parks in Ukraine.

The project is part of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks (EIP) Program in seven developing and transition economies, and is funded by the Swiss Government through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and is aimed at the development of eco-industrial parks in Ukraine.

The Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated February 24, 2023 № 176 approved the Strategy for the Development of Industrial Parks for 2023-2030 and the Operational Plan for Implementation in 2023-2025.

The advantages of eco-industrial parks are  in increasing the productivity of the use of resources, creating closed cycles of the use of resources and waste, which can improve the economic, ecological and social qualities of business, and ensure its promotion of inclusive and sustainable development in Ukraine.
