Live cattle exports in Ukraine increased by 21,4% in 8 months

In January-August 2023, Ukraine exported 13,6 thousand tons of live cattle, which is 21,4% more than y-o-y. 

Although in monetary terms, the export of live cattle for eight months reached 21,8 million USD, which is only 0,5% more than for the same period in 2022.

Lebanon (55,3%), Egypt (31,2%), and Jordan (10,4%) bought the most domestic live cattle during the eight months of this year. 

The import of live cattle in January-August 2023 amounted to 268 tons, which is 62,6% less than y-o-y. 

Ukrainian farmers spent 1,4 million USD on the purchase of live cattle abroad - 54,8% less than in eight months of 2022. 

The live cattle in January-September 2023 were mostly imported from Denmark (79,1%), Poland (19,8%) and Lithuania (1,1%).
