Joint transit: from October 1, Ukrainian companies will be able to send goods to 35 countries

Since October 1, Ukrainian companies will be able to send goods directly from their warehouses to at least 35 countries - participants of the Convention on the common transit procedure.

When goods are exported outside the customs territory of Ukraine at the border with the EU, a transit declaration is filled in and Entry Summary Declaration must be submitted in advance (the Ukrainian general declaration of arrival is an analogue of such a European declaration). These declarations are often issued directly at the border checkpoint. The cost of relevant services is included in the price of goods transportation.

However, now companies have the opportunity to submit such declarations within the country. Provided that transit simplifications are obtained in combination with the simplifications provided for by the Customs Code, Ukrainian companies will be able to send goods directly from their warehouses to at least 35 countries that are parties to the Convention on the Common Transit Procedure. Signatory countries of the Convention: 27 EU countries, 4 EFTA (European Free Trade Association) countries (Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Switzerland) and 4 other countries (Great Britain, Turkey, North Macedonia and Serbia).

Thus, companies will save money and time at the border.
