In January, Ukraine increased cheese imports by nearly 7%

In January 2025, Ukraine imported 3.1 thousand tons of cheese, which is 6.9% more than in the first month of 2024. It is noted that $18.1 million was spent on cheese imports – 4.6% more than in January 2024. Cheeses were primarily imported to Ukraine from Poland (58.6%), Germany (7%), and the Netherlands (6.4%).

Exports of Ukrainian cheeses in January 2025 increased by 33.8% compared to the same period last year, reaching 953 tons. In monetary terms, exports generated $4.4 million, a 46.7% increase over the figure for January 2024. The largest buyers of domestic cheeses in January this year were Moldova (39.3%), Kazakhstan (38.5%), and Germany (6.4%).
