Imports of cheese decreased by 8,1% in 9 months

In January-September of 2023 Ukraine imported 23,8 thousand tons of cheese and this is 8,1% less than y-o-y. In monetary terms the imports of cheese during three quarters increased by 3,4% in comparison with the same period of 2022 (to 141,6 million USD). Cheese was mostly imported to Ukraine from Poland (42,7%), Germany (21,7%), the Netherlands (8,8%). Exports of Ukrainian cheese during January-September of 2023 amounted to 6,2 thousand tons, which is 12,7% more than y-o-y.

In monetary terms, the exports of cheese during 9 months brought 28,4 million USD of income, which is 9,7% more in comparison with the indicator of same period of 2022. The biggest buyers of Ukrainian cheese during three quarters of 2023 were Kazakhstan (50,2%), Moldova (28,9%) and Latvia (6,2%).
