The Government plans to make agreement on exports of poultry meat to China by the end of this year

The Cabinet of Ministers plans to complete negotiations with Chinese government agencies on beginning Ukrainian poultry meat export to China by the end of 2019.

According to the information provided by Bloomberg agency, this was reported by Taras Kachka, the Deputy Minister for Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture.

He said that Ukraine’s government officials are working with their Chinese counterparts on beginning poultry exports to China. He believes that the agreement can be reached by the end of the year.

As noted, China has started negotiations on meat export after an outbreak of African swine fever. According to some estimates, the country has lost half of its pig herd over the past year. This’s expected to boost demand for other types of meat because prices for pork are constantly rising. The People’s Republic of China has already allowed a few Ukrainian producers to export beef.
