Germany has become Ukraine’s leading trade partner

Ukraine has become Germany's most important trade partner in Eastern Europe by the end of 2024, surpassing Russia for the first time in terms of trade turnover.

Trade and economic ties are developing not only between the states, but also at the regional level – through partnerships between cities and states, which contributes to deepening business contacts “on the ground”.

Most promising areas: Ukraine’s reconstruction is a key vector for German investment, energy, including greenenergy, IT and digitalisation, defence-industrial complex – active cooperation is already developing.
