In the first half of 2025, Ukraine reduced its exports of dairy whey, though revenue increased

Ukraine exported 9.1 thousand tonnes of dairy whey in January–June 2025, a 20.9% decrease compared to the same period last year. However, in monetary terms, exports increased by 9.1% compared to January–June 2024, reaching USD 8.4 million. The most active buyers of Ukrainian dairy whey during this period were Poland (32.3%), China (22.3%), and Jordan (11.7%). 

Imports of dairy whey in the first half of 2025 decreased by 27.1%, reaching 2 thousand tonnes. Ukraine spent USD 4 million on foreign purchases of this product, a 25.9% reduction compared to January–June 2024. The largest suppliers of dairy whey to Ukraine during these six months were Sweden (40%), Poland (30.7%), and Germany (13%).
