The first ambassadors - experts on the African continent - joined the Grain from Ukraine initiative

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held another meeting of the working group on providing aid to countries suffering from a crucial food crisis, during which the enlargement of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's Grain from Ukraine initiative and the involvement of international experts familiar with the problems of the African continent were discussed. The first ambassadors of Grain from Ukraine on the African continent have become:

- the former President of Malawi, Dr. Joyce Banda, who has been working now in a number of international organizations, in particular, is a member of the executive committee of UN Women;

- Regional Director of Central and West Africa Programs of the National Democratic Institute (USA), Dr. Christopher Fomuño, who led international election observation missions and managed democracy support programs in many African countries;

- former Nigerian Minister of Education and former Vice President of the World Bank, Dr. Obi Ezekwesili, who is now a Senior Advisor to the African Economic Development Policy Initiative and Regional Director of the National Democratic Institute in Africa.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the results of involving international donor partners in the implementation of the initiative, improving the mechanism of receiving funds from partners, the issue of the passage of vessels with food, the results of the visits of Ukrainian delegations to African countries and further prospects for work on this continent.
